Keep your eyes peeled and hold on to Turku! In January 2011, poems by Turku-based authors Riku Korhonen, Tommi Parkko, Emma Puikkonen, Timo Harju, Henry Lehtonen and Leena Parkkinen found their way to the paper towel dispensers of public spaces in downtown Turku. The poems printed on the hand towels were identified by the title Kaupungin palasia (“Pieces of City”). The poems have also been spotted in other cities across Finland: to celebrate Turku’s year as the European Capital of Culture, packets of poem-printed hand towels were also sent to Mänttä, Tampere, Kouvola, Kajaani, Oulu and Pori.
